The Hospital de Olhos de Minas Gerais – Dr. Ricardo Guimarães Eye Clinic, conscious of the role of organizations in modern society, highlights it’s social responsibility with the creation of the Hospital de Olhos Foundation.
            The HOLHOS Foundation was created in 1988, with the goal of acquainting and educating communities about ocular health. Through special projects, the HOLHOS Foundation carries out research, trains professionals and educates communities in subjects specific to ocular health. Patients with specific pathologies are also treated at no expense.


ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

            The Hospital de Olhos Foundation offers a series of projects of social nature integrated with the Program of Promotion of Ocular Health. The program previews actions with specific nature, but with the ever-present goal of taking education and medical attention to poor communities and where there isn’t.
            Among its many initiatives, the VimTeVer Project (Came to see you Project) has been specially recognized in 1997 by the Guardianship of Foundations of Minas Gerais, awarding the HOLHOS Foundation a Silver Medal in citizenship, while competing against many other institutions.

Projeto Empresa Cidadã (Citizen Company Project)
This project aims for the promotion of ocular health, searching to inform and prevent communities. This project consists of lectures and tests on color seeing, cone at other companies, distributors and industries in the most varied areas.

Projeto VimTeVer Universitário (College CameToSeeYou Project)
Promotes visual health by educating college communities with lectures and ophthalmic exams. College students have access to orientation, diagnostic and treatment with subsidiary prices in a stage in life where many still do not have financial independence. Special attention is given to dyslexia in learning, specially reading dyslexia.


Projeto Pimpolho (Moppet Project)
The goal in this project is to detect visual issues in children from 9 to 10 years, when there is still time to correct them. Realized in school, also involves lectures and activities, both fun and educational, with the appropriate language to the public.

Projeto Arco-íris (Rainbow Project)
This project works essentially with quality of vision. Its goals include diagnostics of color vision, contrast, moving-vision, and with this, improve professional-vision. With the diagnostics it’s possible to indicate whether a person has a better or worse probability of succeeding in a specific activity, including a job.
